The New Rockome
Small Town USA
Here at Rockome, our goal is to take you back to a simpler time. Remember the way small towns in America were in the 1940’s? Imagine walking back into that life by visiting an authentic 1940’s home and schoolhouse, and then make your way over to the Five and Dime for a specialty gift.
As you visit with neighbors and townspeople, pick up your fresh supply of herbs at Harvest Time Store. Stroll through the famous gardens and rock formations, enjoy a soda at Elvan’s soda fountain, and take a buggy around town. Finish your day off with dinner the family style way in Days Gone By restaurant, as you listen to the soothing music of the times.
Enjoy life like it was when small towns still thrived and people took time to chat with the neighbor they meet on the street.

Blacksmith Shop
Both age-old arts, wood carving and blacksmithing flourish in this small town. View the craftsmen in action on the weekends as they forge horseshoes, or have your name carved in a piece of wood to hang as a rustic piece of art in your home.

Buggy Rides
Although automobiles became more and more popular everyday, in the 1940’s small towns and rural citizens continued to make use of the horse and carriage.
Here at Rockome, you can enjoy a buggy ride through the village. The population of Rockome’s surrounding community is largely Amish, allowing us to easily incorporate this form of transportation into our everyday life.

Farm House
Take a tour of our Farm House to get a glimpse of how small town family life in the 1940s used to be. Walk through our authentic kitchen and family room area or venture upstairs to see the bedroom areas.

Gardens
For decades visitors have enjoyed our tranquil gardens. Rockome’s unique rock formations and colorful flowers frame a scenic view pleasing to all ages. Our gardens are the perfect setting for a peaceful walk, a quiet conversation, or to just simply relax.

Independence Hall
Independence Hall is the largest meeting and exhibit building at Rockome. It features large open space, home to train shows, large quilting events and with its location next to one of the most beautiful gardens, ideal for wedding receptions and business events.
Organizations or individuals interested in using Independence Hall for events should.

School House
The Rockome School house is the perfect place to learn what education was like in the 1940’s. This authentic, one room, country schoolhouse stands on Main Street, across the street from the Candy Shack & Bakery. Within its walls, the schoolhouse is set up just as it would have been, with a blackboard across the front wall and rows of desks for students to learn their reading, writing, and arithmetic.
